A special blend of hospitality and warmth

People return year after year to enjoy Tina’s special blend of hospitality, comfort and warmth. The spotless rooms are furnished with flair and the whole house has a warm and cosy feel. Tina is hugely efficient and effortlessly turns out wonderful home-baking and preserves as well as keeping the large award-winning gardens. But there is always time for easy conversation and you will never be hurried. And some of our guests find it hard to leave our sunny conservatory and the generous cups of tea, coffee and homemade cakes that always seem to be on hand.

Visiting Lough Rynn Castle?

Coolabawn House is ideally situated in the town of Mohill—convenient to all local amenities, including Lough Rynn Castle.
Attending a wedding at Lough Rynn? Check in on your way to the reception; we will happily offer you a resuscitating cup of tea or coffee and homemade cake before dropping you out to Lough Rynn. Or if you prefer, we will drive you out to the Castle to collect your car on the morning after.

Our famous traditional Irish Breakfast

We won’t hold you to a time for breakfast: come down when you’re ready and enjoy a choice of cereals, fresh fruit and Tina’s famous traditional fry with bacon, sausage, locally sourced organic eggs, black & white pudding, tomatoes and boxty. All our breakfasts are cooked to order, so just let us know if you’d prefer something different: we’ll do our best to prepare it for you.
Everything is served with Tina's brown bread and marmalade - both home made - and toast. And we serve a variety of teas from good old breakfast tea to a range of green and herbal teas, or if you prefer, fresh cafetieres of ground coffee. Tina's breakfast became the subject of a radio and newspaper conversation back in 2004: see below.

Madam, - Paul Griffin's letter of March 15th entitled "The dwindling Irish breakfast" makes depressing reading. My experience on frequent visits to Leitrim is quite the opposite. In one B&B - Slevin's of Mohill - we had to ask Mrs Slevin to please reduce the helpings as one could not possibly consume all that was presented: orange juice, choice of cereals, big fry consisting of two pieces of black pudding, two pieces of white pudding, two rashers, four sausages, one egg, some tomato and the pièce de résistance: two slices of finest Leitrim boxty. I suggest that Mr Griffin visit Lovely Leitrim and enjoy meeting wonderful people, fantastic scenery and marvellous hospitality and - lest we forget - a top class breakfast. -
Yours, etc., PETER GORDON, Beechpark Lawn, Dublin 15.
